CINDY YU, O.D., F.O.A.A.
Dr. Yu received her Doctor of Optometry with high honors from the School of Optometry at U.C. Berkeley. She also holds two bachelor degrees from U.C. Berkeley in Nutritional Science and Physiological Optics. She has been practicing a full scope of optometry in the Bay Area since 1987.
Dr. Yu is highly trained and experienced optometrist who has been intimately involved in Orthokeratology using the latest innovative therapeutic design of contact lenses working to improve vision especially on young children with great success for the past 20+ years. She has always had a special interest on preventive eye care to help the geriatrics treating the dry eyes, using the antioxidant and specialty bifocal lens fitting to fit their visual needs as their eyes change with age. |
Her caring and passionate personality provides the pediatrics with orthokeratology to improve functional vision and provide the freedom to see without glasses or contact lenses. She is also very aggressive to intervene to retard the progression of nearsightedness with reading glasses, bifocal glasses and vision therapy.
She has been awarded as America's Top Optometrist by Consumers Research Council. Her commitment to serve the community has been shown to serve as a free clinic organizer for S.F. Korean Lions Club and volunteers for numerous health related events to help underprivileged immigrants. She also volunteers to present the optometry fields to school kids who are exploring the health related fields.
To better meet the needs of her patients, she has been co-managing LASIK patients with a well known ophthalmologist.
Most of all, she believes that educating the public with the importance of maintaining good eye health is crucial to prevent any eye disease. She takes great pride in providing the highest quality vision care to her patients.
